Lucille Minter's Obituary
Lucille Minter, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 8:09 A.M. on Thursday (07-07-2022) in her residence.
Lucille was born on February 17, 1935 in Osceola, AR, the daughter of Jack Turner and Addie (Cook) Turner. She married Eddie Minter, Jr. December 30, 1972 in Mississippi County, AR. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1992.
Lucille was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She worked at Caterpillar for 32 years. Lucille loved doing yardwork and taking care of her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and talking with her family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, HSHS St. Mary’s Hospice Care, Angie Buie, and Angelica Jones.
She is survived by her daughter – Ruby Minter of Decatur, IL, step-son – George Phillip Minter of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren – Angela Minter-Skinner and husband Sherman Skinner of Avon, IN, Nikki Minter of Indianapolis, IN, and Demetric Lawson of Decatur, IL, great-grandchildren – James Eric Mackey, Jr, of Indianapolis, IN, and Demetria Lawson of Decatur, IL.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eddie, 3 brothers-Monroe Hicks, Willie Turner, and Clarence Turner, and 2 sisters- Mary Turner and Laura Lee Turner.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday (07-16-2022) at New Salem Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Decatur, IL.
