Lucille V. Tapscott's Obituary
Lucille V. Urban Tapscott, 94 of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2005 at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be 10 a.m. Fri. Nov. 25, 2005 in St. James Catholic Church, Fr. Jeff Grant celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
Mrs. Tapscott was born on Nov. 6, 1911 in Decatur the daughter of George and Mary Heinzel Urban. A lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church, Lucille worked for the United States Government in Washington D.C. during WWII. She also worked for the Government at the Decatur Signal Depot and in Pasadena, CA. She retired in 1969 after more than 30 years.
Surviving is her son, Fred A. Tapscott and his wife Linda of Decatur. Five grandchildren: Ron Tapscott and wife Sandy of Kingwood, Texas; Carol Newman and husband Dean of Leawood, Kansas; Scott Tapscott and wife Nicci of Champaign; Mary Peters and husband Pat of Decatur; Philip Tapscott and wife Amy of Decatur; twelve great grandchildren; special niece, Elaine Hibbard of Decatur.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and four brothers.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Imboden Creek Living Center for their care and compassion during Lucille's stay with them. Also, thanks to DMH Hospice for their comfort and care.
