Lucretia "Jane" Smith's Obituary
Lucretia "Jane" Smith, 85, of Decatur, died peacefully in the home of her daughter Deborah on Friday, November 18, 2011.
She was born January 1, 1926, in Decatur, the daughter of William and Eloise Woolington Keeling. Mrs. Smith retired from Pinkerton's Security where she worked as a bookkeeper/office manager for many years. She also worked for several years at the Decatur/Macon County Senior Citizen Office most recently as a receptionist. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Democratic Women's Group and American Business Women's Association. She married James T. Smith January 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death June 1, 1960. Also preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Michael "Mickey" Good.
Surviving are her children: Alice M. Francis "Joe" Kauzlarich of Peoria, Deborah J. Smith and Michael Sandra Smith of Decatur, Jennifer Stewart of Gig Harbor, WA and Pamela Dan Nelson of Pekin; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Memorial service to celebrate her life will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in St. John's Episcopal Church. There will be no visitation and inurnment will take place at St. John's Episcopal Church Columbarium. Memorials: St. John's Episcopal Church, 130 West Eldorado, Decatur, IL 62522.
