Maggie Lou Simpson's Obituary
Maggie Lou Simpson, 97, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2015, in Aperion Care of Decatur.
Maggie was born September 2, 1917 in Forest, MS, the daughter of Doc and Florence (Gunn) Holifield. Maggie loved listening to sports on the radio. She enjoyed going out shopping, and loved spending quality time with her family. Maggie married Anderson Harper on October 27, 1942, and then later married Hershel Simpson. They both preceded her in death.
Maggie leaves behind her daughters, Jenseen Harper Wilks of Decatur; Sandra Faye Harper Dinwiddie of Augusta, GA; sister, Maude Jones; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands; parents; daughter, Marise Harper Lathon; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services to celebrate Maggie’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Church of The Living God PGT #1, 1915 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Decatur, with Overseer Tyrone Cooper officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial is in Graceland Cemetery.
