Mamie Catherine "Cathy" Currie's Obituary
Decatur – Mamie Catherine “Cathy” Currie, 58, of Decatur, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024.
Cathy was born on May 21, 1966, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Charles O. Wilkes and Mamie Currie Jelks. She loved to laugh and have fun, cook for her family, watch movies and get dressed up.
Surviving are her children: Christopher Currie, Natasha Currie and Chasity Currie; grandchildren: Jerdarious Maclin Jr, Jeremiah Maclin, Jerdaia Maclin, Ja’Khari Currie, Miracle Currie, Alacia Currie, Chazier Currie, Sadaria Cole and Toray Cole; great grandchild Ger’Mani Bracey; special friend Andre Mason; siblings: Robin Currie, Delbert (wife Janice) Currie, Veronica Wilkes, Vickie Wilder, Jack Ryan and Shawna Gean; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters: Sandra, Beverly and Jessie Currie, and brother Charles Wilkes.
The family will host a memorial service on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11am, at Good News Christian Fellowship Church, 4415 N. Water St, Decatur, IL 62526. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mamie D. Hayes Educational Foundation.
