Margaret Dorothy Jones' Obituary
Margaret Dorothy Jones, “Maw Maw”, 67, of Mt. Zion, was born on November 20, 1940, and went to be with her Lord on October 28, 2008.
There will be a celebration in honor of her life at Glad Tidings Assembly of God on Friday, October 31, at 2:00 pm.
Margaret loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was strong in her Christian faith and trusted God. She lived God’s word, which says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord will award to me on this day”, 2 Timothy 4:7-8.
“Maw Maw” had an incredibly unique charisma about her. Everyone felt a sense of warmth and compassion when in her presence. She had an unconditional love for her family, as well as her pets. She shared a special bond with children, and became their playmate and best friend. Maw Maw has inspired the lives of many. She would want us to thank HGTV for the many hours of remodeling and renovations. She is greatly loved and will be missed.
Relatives still living in this life include her children, Brian Kirk Amy of Mt. Zion; Cathy Carter Wayne of Mt. Zion; Vicki Elliott Shannon of Lafayette, LA; and Kayla Jones of Mt. Zion; grandchildren, Sarah and Lindsey Carter; Ryan and Cole Elliott; and Jessie and Justin Kirk; great grandchildren Emelia Moore and Paxton Carter; brother, John Kalous of AZ; and sister, Mavis Willis Jack of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in graduating to Heaven were her parents, Joe and Phyllis Youngman Kalous; first husband, Doyle E. Kirk; second husband, James Jones; brothers, Joe Kalous and Arthur Kalous.
Margaret was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, and was also active in Life Builders Bible Study. Memorials are greatly appreciated to the Kilpatrick House for Autistic Boys, 6691 Antoinette St., Boyce, LA, 71409, or Kayla Jones, P.O. Box 126, Mt. Zion, IL 62549.
Special thanks to the wonderful support and many prayers from her Life Builders group and the great staff of St. John’s Hospice, especially Lynn Brenner.
