Margaret L. Mathes, 82, of Assumption, died on Monday, April 28, 2003 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield
Graveside services will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Greenwood Cemetery with Major John Wilkins officiating. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 P.M. in J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Margaret was born in Moultrie County on June 25, 1920 the daughter of Ralph E. and Eugenia Rutherford Crum. She was a member of the Salvation Army where she was a cook and taught Sunday School for 27 years. Margaret married William H. Mathes on February 04, 1939 in Terre Haute, IN. and he preceded her in death in 1967.
Surviving are her daughter, Marjorie Mathes of Decatur; sons: Harold Mathes of Assumption; Larry Julie Mathes of Stonington; Kenneth Susie Mathes of Pana; brothers: Hubert Ada Crum of Tuscola; Kenneth Shirley Crum of Champaign; sisters: Jenese Don Brewner of Decatur; Doris Jim Roberts of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her parents, husband, 2 sons, 1 brother, 1 sister, and 1 grandson preceded her in death.
