Margaret Lucille Melhorn's Obituary
Margaret Lucille Voyles Melhorn age 82 went to be with her Lord at 6:32 pm Friday, March 12, 2004 in the Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 1 pm Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Gerald Thompson. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Harristown. Memorial contributions may be made to: Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice.
Lucille was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on January 6, 1922, the daughter of William and Mary Blackard Lowery. She volunteered and served on the Board of Love Unlimited as well as Volunteered for Dove and the Veteran’s Administration. She was a member of Westlyn Baptist Church. She married Reyburn Voyles, Sr on November 30, 1941, then later married LaRue “Mel” Melhorn.
Survivors include her two sons, Reyburn Voyles, Jr. of Decatur, IL, John Voyles and wife Pamela of Henryetta, Oklahoma; her two daughters, Patiricia Belcher and husband James of Decatur, IL, Verna Hoffman and husband Donald of Mt. Zion, IL., her three sisters, Mary Cox of Clinton, IL, Janice Cox of Decatur, IL, Rosa Mearida of Wapella, IL;sixteen grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 10 great – great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Evelyn and Marcia, two sisters, one brother, two grandsons, one great grandson.
