Margaret E. Morrison's Obituary
Ms. Morrison was a daughter of James and Katherine McDermott Morrison. She graduated from Dalton City Grade School and Decatur High School. She fine tuned her secretarial skills at Brown’s Business College in Decatur and thereafter was employed at A.E. Staley Co.,Lincoln Fuel Co., and Crum Distributing Co. In 1960 she moved to Washington D.C., where she was employed as Administrative Secretary in the House of Representatives, working for Congressman Peter Mack, Congressman Natcher, and Congressman Melvin Price. She retired in 1973 and returned to Decatur a few years later. In addition to taking several trips abroad, she traveled extensively in the United States and Canada. An avid bridge player, she was a member of Professional Secretaries International, Elks Club, Catholic Daughters of America, serving as Grand Regent for two years; St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s 50-plus club, and a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Surviving are nieces, Dorothy Heneberry and Maureen Nye of Alburque, N.M., Helen Rogers of Flossmore, and nephew Joseph Heneberry of St. Louis, MO., along with several great nieces, nephews and their families.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Grace Morrison, Agnes Heneberry, Lillian Frechette, Jennie Morrison and brother, James F. Frank Morrison.
