Marguerite M. Balderson's Obituary
Marguerite M. Balderson, 91, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2015 as a resident of the Imboden Creek Living Center.
Marguerite was born on January 26, 1924 in Decatur IL., the daughter of Max and Emma (Fedora) Schramm. Marguerite graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. She worked as a model and during WWII at Huday Hershey. She was a secretary for the General Transfer Co and worked as a payroll clerk for the A.E. Staley Mfg Co. Marguerite enjoyed her family and friends and was very active at the Concordia Lutheran Church from the time of its conception in the 1950’s. She was a volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. She married James D Balderson on March 28, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Surviving are two children, Linda B Cope of Kulu, India; Steve (Pat) Balderson of Urbana Illinois; four grandchildren, Jadii Rodgers of Champaign and Tyler (Quinita) Balderson, Samuel Balderson and Katy Balderson of Urbana; four great- grandchildren, Taylor Pierce, Jaedon Rodgers and Margaret Rodgers of Champaign and Elliott Balderson of Urbana.
Funeral services for Marguerite will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the Concordia Lutheran Church, 3303 E. Maryland Decatur, IL.
