Maribelle Elaine West's Obituary
Maribelle Elaine West, 75, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Heartland Health Care Center in Decatur.
Maribelle was born February 14, 1942, in Decatur, to Glenn Torrence and Charlotte Elaine (Erwin) DeWitt. She married William D. West on June 22, 1956, in Kankakee, IL. She was a member of Second Church of God and Neighborhood Watch. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William D. West; her son, Steve (Tammy) West of Decatur, IL; one daughter, H. Gail West of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell DeWitt of Venita, OR; two sisters, Patricia Myhan of Summertown, TN and Sherry (Richard) Powell of El Cajon, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, William West Jr.,; one granddaughter, Rebecca K. West; two brothers, Glenn Torrence “Ted” DeWitt, Jr. and James A. DeWitt; one sister, Joan Cannon.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Maribelle will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Second Church of God with the Rev. Larry Flaugher, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church before the service. Burial will be at North Fork. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter 8430 W.
