Marion C. Birks' Obituary
Marion C. Birks, 79, of Gibson City, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Marion was born May 19, 1935 in Tolono, to Isom C. and Leva May (Roy) Birks. He served in USNR. He married Anna M. Kuyrkendall. She passed away December 10, 2008. He later married Pauline (Carson) Brooks on June 14, 2011 in Gibson City. He was a member of ABATE of Illinois, Centennial Mason Lodge #0747, Christian Motorcycle Association and the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; two children, Jim (Deb) Birks of Colorado Springs, CO and Jo Ann Dunks of Gibson City; two step-children, Douglas (Karen) Brooks of Champaign and Janet (Bob) Flageole of Gibson City; six grandchildren, Ashley A. Dunks, Lindsay K. Dunks, Jim C. Birks, Jr., Sarah E. Birks, Brad J. Birks and Kayla (Kevin) Doughty; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Hunter, Isaac and Damien Dunks, Jaxxon C. Birks, Payton I. and Kylian F. Doughty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Anna.
Services to celebrate the life of Marion will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Southern Baptist Church in Gibson City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Bailey Memorial Cemetery in Tolono. Memorials may be directed to the Southern Baptist Church in Gibson City.
