Marjorie was raised in church all her life. When she was a child she remembered her mother reading the Bible each night and kneeling with Marjorie and her siblings in prayer. After becoming an LPN, Marjorie worked at Moorland, Oklahoma, then Shawnee Oklahoma while attending Oklahoma Baptist University. After her marriage to Waymond, she moved to Decatur where she was a long-time member of Lakeview Baptist Church then Calvary Baptist Church. No matter where she lived, she always found a church where she could not only attend, but become actively involved. She loved to work with young people and the elderly.
Marjorie worked as a nurse at hospitals and nursing homes for many years. She stated that “God took a bashful farm girl and made a nurse.” She often had the privilege of reading the Bible or having prayer with her patients.
