Marjorie L. Pennington's Obituary
Marjorie L. Pennington, 78 of Beardstown and Springfield died on January 30, 2007 at her home in Beardstown after a long illness.
She was born September 15, 1928 in Galesburg, the daughter of Paul and Sybil Hull Bowman. She married Robert Kenneth Pennington II in Peoria in 1947: he preceded her in death, in 1981, also preceding her in death was a sister Eileen and a brother Don.
Marge, as her friends called her, graduated from Galesburg High School and had attended Browns Business College.
She was an excellent seamstress and mother, who worked for Teachers Retirement System and then was a Tax Analyst for the State of Illinois. Marge was a member of Douglas Avenue Methodist Church. She also actively participated in the "Merry Widows Friday Night Club".
She is survived by 6 children: daughter, Linda Fritz of Sherman Oaks, CA, son Robert Kenneth KenPennington III wife Sharon of Springfield, daughter Connie Kniery husband Mark of Chatham, son Barry Keith of Shawnee, KS, daughter Carol Pennington Ehlers of Santa Clarita, CA, son Kirkpatrick Pennington wife Pattiey of Beardstown. One surviving brother, Charles Edward Bowman of Beloit, KS as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and -nephews.
Cremation Services will be preformed by Moran & Goebel Funeral Home of Decatur. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date with the burial of ashes in Industry Cemetery family plot.
In lieu of flowers Marjorie has requested donations to be sent to the Salvation Army.
