Marjorie E. Sangster's Obituary
Marjorie E. Sangster, 77 of Decatur passed away at 4:50 pm December 19, Friday 2003 in her residence.
Memorial Services celebrating her life will be 1 pm Monday December 20, 2003 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Kaegle officiating. Condolences may be made to the family: www.moranandgoebel.com
Marjorie was born April 17, 1926 in London, England the daughter of Frederick and Katherine Smith May. She served in the England Land Army During the World War II. She worked for First of America in Decatur Bank up until her retirement in 1990. She was served in the boards of Growing Strong and the Senior Center; she also was instrumental in getting amateur hockey to come to Decatur. She helped with Theater Seven and the Children Theater. She married Jack Sangster in London, England on June 17, 1946; he preceded her in death in 1977.
Marjorie is survived by three sons; Ian Sangster and wife Marsha of Decatur, Michael Sangster of Decatur, David Sangster Financee Allison White of Fort Myers, Florida, one daughter; Joan Bretz and husband John of Beecher City, Illinois, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, one sister; Olive Gregory Travis City, Michigan. Marjorie was also preceded in death by one sister.
