Marjorie Ann Tapscott's Obituary
Marjorie Ann Tapscott, 70, of Decatur, died on Friday, Feb. 04, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life will be 10 a.m. Mon. Feb. 7, 2005 in St. James Catholic Church, Fr. Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sun. at the church where a vigil prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to: St. Teresa High School Foundation or St. James Catholic Church.
Marjorie was born on April 9, 1934 in Decatur, the daughter of Edward Francis and Olive M. Davis Suhl. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was employed as a secretary at Spencer Kellogg and then later for Decatur Public School District 61 working at Dennis and Pershing schools. Marjorie then went to work at the Kiel building as secretary for the Superintendent before she retired after 25 years of service to the School District. Her last employment was as personal assistant to U.S. Representative David Phelps.
Surviving are her sons: Ron Sandra Tapscott, their son, Ryan of Kingwood TX; Scott Nicci Tapscott, their children: Olivia, Wyatt and Izabella of Champaign; Philip Amy Tapscott, their children: Luke and Sam of Decatur; daughters: Carol Dean Newman, their children: Philip and Katie of Leawood KS; Mary Patrick Peters, their children: Joseph, Daniel and Matthew of Decatur; brother, Richard Suhl of Decatur; sister, Mary Walt Wessel of Decatur; aunt and uncle, Ruth and Donald Moss of Decatur; nieces, nephews, cousins and many-many friends
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents.
