Mark Wayne Hensen's Obituary
Decatur-Mark Hensen, 56 of Decatur, passed away 10:58 pm Saturday, February 26, 2011 in his residence with his loving wife and family at his side.
Mark was born June 30, 1954 in Villa Grove, IL the son of Dean and Vivian L. Meserve Hensen. He was employed for 38 years as a machinist for the Mueller Company in Decatur. Mark was an active and participating member of the United Steel Workers Union, and served as a Volunteer fireman on the Long Creek Fire Department for 10 years. Mark and Marilyn Shafer married on May 8, 1972 in Rantoul, IL.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 38 years, Marilyn Hensen of Decatur; his sons Mark Wayne Hensen, II and FiancÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ Crystal Lourash both of Decatur, and Kevin D. Hensen of Decatur; his father Dean Hensen of Villa Grove, IL; his sister Tina Kellems of Villa Grove, IL; his brother Mike Williams of Ohio; his grandchildren all of which were his pride and joy Travis Wayne Hensen, Lexus Naomi Joanne Hensen, Matthew Mark Wayne Hensen, Jonathon Skinner, Zachery Roof, Cheyenne Skinner, and Rudy B. Nyberg, IV; and several nieces and nephews.
Mark was reunited in Heaven with his mother Vivian L. Meserve Hensen.
Funeral services to celebrate Mark’s life will be 4:00 pm Wednesday March 2, 2011 at South Shores Christian Church, 230 Bristol Drive, Decatur with Pastor Steve Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to St. John’s Hospice or the Cancer Care Center in Decatur. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is assisting Mark’s family with these arrangements.
