Martha E. Johnson's Obituary
Martha E. Johnson, 90, of Sullivan, formerly of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010.
Martha was born January 14, 1920, in Urbana, the daughter of Roy and Clara Frances Whitney. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Martha Loved Jesus and was very artistic. She spent a lot of time painting, making shadow boxes and miniature items for those shadow boxes. She married Dean R. Johnson in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Martha is survived by her son, Larry Glenda Taylor Johnson of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren: Tammy K. Ryan Prince, Jeffery Dean Johnson and Sheli Lyn Andy Graven; great grandchildren: Hailey and Mariah Graven and Gentry Prince; brother, Robert A. Lillian Whitney and lifelong friend, Mary Hamman
Her special sayings were: “143” I Love You; “Live Laugh Love Often.”
Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 2 p.m. until the service time at 3 p.m. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to: Sullivan Health Care Center or Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
