Marvin D. Jorgensen age 86 of Decatur died at 10:09 pm Tuesday May 11, 2004in St. Mary's Hospital.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 11 am Friday May 14, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 9 am until service time. Rev. Don Wolford will be officiating. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Marvin was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa on November 01, 1917 the son of Walter and Edith Brady Jorgensen. He graduated from Grinnell College then later graduated from the University Of Illinois School Of Law in Champaign in June 1948. He was an attorney in the Decatur Area for over 40 years before retiring in 1988 He was a former member of the Decatur Area and Illinois State Bar Association. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during WW II. He married Alice Grace on June 7, 1952 in Decatur, Illinois, she survives.
Also surviving includes his daughters, Sally Oldham and husband Don of Lanesville, Indiana; Janie Young and husband Michael of Decatur; Two sisters Opal Schlotterbeck and husband Lynn of Charles City, Iowa and Norma Stock also of Charles City, Iowa. His grandchildren include Katie Smith and husband Zach, Kevin Oldham, Jacob Ahola, Eric Ahola and Michael Young.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents.
