Mary Alice Adams' Obituary
Mary Alice Adams was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She departed her life on Sunday, October 24, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Mae was born July 20, 1958, in Gunnison Mississippi, the daughter of Virlena Peck and Eliga Gennings. She formerly worked at Peerless and Aramark for 27 years. She loved to play bingo, decorate, cook, plan family events, and spend time with her grandkids and family.
She leaves to cherish her memories her father Eliga (Lubirtha) from Gunnison, MS; daughters Thalassa Peck (Brandon) and Stephanie Carson; sons Charles Peck (Veonica) and Andre Peck (Denise); grandkids Marcus Flagg and Chase Peck from Atlanta GA, Chandler Peck from Atlanta GA, Andre Peck from Atlanta GA, Amarie, Noel, Nyla, and Nyionah; sisters Laura Taylor, Geneva Peck, Juanita Goodwin of Decatur IL, Lula Gennings of Gunnison MS, Pauline Hogan of New Albany, Clemmie and Rosie Christian of Southaven MS; brothers Charles Peck of Decatur, IL, Jessie Conner of Gunnison MS, Alvin (Michael) Riley of Peoria, IL, Gregory Wright of Rosedale MS, and Willie Gennings of Clarksdale MS; friends Tyrone Carson, Linda Graves, Pearl Carson, Minnie Cook, Arnette Reed and Judy Bryson; aunts Luella Brook, Lillie Peck, Rosie Bucknor and Kathy Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Virlena Peck, brothers Leroy Peck, Daniel Peck, Elijah Gennings and Jessie Gennings, sister Rosie Peck Fox, and favorite cousin Ethel Powell.
Funeral service for Mary will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 6 at Community Temple Church of God in Christ. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.moranandgoebel.com.
