Mary Katherine Brown's Obituary
Mary Katherine Brown, 91, of Decatur passed away on December 19th, 2018 at Imboden Creek Living Center, with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born on June 9th, 1927 in Decatur, daughter of George Smith and Mary Hennessee. She later married Lewis E. Brown who passed away on April 17th, 1990. She was a homemaker who took amazing care of her children and spent her days sewing, quilting, and crocheting blankets for the New Life Pregnancy Center. She also was an avid reader. Mary was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children David Eugene Brown of Colorado Springs, CO, Connie Jean Mackling (Gary), and Judy Ann Highcock (John) of Decatur. Mary also had many grandchildren, David Mackling, Kimberly Austin, Lindsey Walker, John Highcock II, and Janarra Beals and great-grandchildren, Dalton and Abbi Austin, James Walker, and Lauren, Sophie, and Carson Mackling.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; both her parents; sisters Elaine Goble, Patricia Oliver and Barbara Mosser; son James Lewis Brown; and great-grandchildren Brittany Austin and Lillian Walker.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mary Katherine Brown will be 3:00 pm Sunday December 23 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe Street, Decatur IL. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any memorials to be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3850 Lourdes Drive Decatur, Illinois.
