Mary Catherine Catlin's Obituary
Decatur-Mary Catherine Catlin, 96, of Forsyth, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Mary was born April 12, 1917 in Belfontane, Ohio, the daughter of William and Helen (Wetz) Mucker. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a retired school teacher. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Power Squad Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, and traveling with her husband. She married Lewis L. Catlin February 7, 1948.
Mary leaves behind her beloved husband Lewis, daughters Carolyn Riha and husband Gene, Theresa Luebcke and husband Rich, and Katie Smalley and husband Jeff, son Michael Catlin, ten grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mary was reunited in Heaven with her parents, son Harold Catlin, and two brothers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Khan his nurses and staff especially Michelle Wright, nurses and staff at Fair Havens Christian Home, and the nurses and staff with DMH Hospice.
Mass of Christian burial to celebrate Mary’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 3850 Lourdes Dr. Decatur, with Rev. Rick Weltin, Celebrant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. Military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will immediately follow the Mass. Memorials may be directed to Fair Havens Christian Home or DMH Hospice.
