Mary Mae Covey's Obituary
Mary Mae Covey 67 of Decatur died at 12:30 am Friday April 30, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Monday May 3, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Brown officiating, where visitation will be one hour before services in the funeral home. Mary was born in Decatur, IL on December 20, 1936 the daughter of Joseph and Jenny Kilgore Paul. She married Robert Covey in Decatur on October 11, 1952; he preceded her in death on June 08, 1997. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She worked as self stocker at Kroger for a few years. She also worked for Unlimited Cleaning Services for a while.
Survivors include her seven sons; Robert Eugene Covey of Beardstown, Mike Dewane Covey of Pinckneyville, Terry Covey of Pensacola, Florida, Donald Eugene Covey of Decatur, Kenneth LeRoy and wife Mary of Decatur, Joseph Paul and wife Brenda Covey of Decatur and Richard Dean Covey also of Decatur; one daughter, Mary Jane Ewald of Decatur; her Aunt Lizzie who helped raise Mary; Eight step grandchildren, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters and parents.
