Mary Ann Curry's Obituary
Mary Ann Curry, 77, of Decatur passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mary was born on June 17, 1937 in Decatur the daughter of John C. and Wealtha (Williams) Minks Sr. She was President of the American Legion Post# 257 in Stonington and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was retired from Macon County Memorial Park and Smallwood Hearing Center. She married Donald Wayne Curry on March 26, 1955 in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband, Don; sons, James T. Curry (Robin) of Fairview Heights; Peter P. Curry (Wendy) of Coulterville; Donald D. Curry (Carrie) of Huntley; Johnathon R. Thompson (Stephanie) of Decatur; daughters, Karran I. Drake (Stanton) of Carbondale; Lori Curry of Maroa; Valerie L. Callihan (John) of Decatur; Katreena M. Thompson of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brothers, Glen Minks (Ruby) of Springfield; Robert Minks (Jo Ann) of Decatur; 17 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David W. Curry; daughter, Alice Louise Curry; brother, John C. Minks Jr.; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fritz, the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, and the staff at St. John’s Hospital for their excellent and superior care.
Service to celebrate Mary’s life will be 10 AM Friday, May 1, 2015 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
