Mary Ellen (Danbury) Haney's Obituary
Our wife and mother, Mary Ellen (Danbury) Haney, 61, of Decatur, departed to eternal grace on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at 9:42 a.m., in her home, with her children and husband by her side.
Mary was born November 2, 1955, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, to William E. and Deloris J. (Frakes) Danbury, Sr. She was united into holy matrimony to Stephen L. Haney on March 22, 1980, in Decatur. Mary loved gardening, cooking, reading, crafting, painting and fishing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her beloved tea cup yorkie, Theodore. She was adored by her family and will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stephen; her mother, Deloris Danbury of Decatur; her five children, Brian (Amy) Danbury, Stephanie Danbury, Teayr Crabtree, Taylor (Matthew) Lamb and Jaelyn Houk all of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, Robert W. Danbury, Drew J. Danbury, Ryan A. Danbury, Aiden K. Danbury, Dominick A. Danbury, Ashlyn N. Duncan, Ava M. Duncan, Jeremiah R. Crabtree, Jr., Brooklyn R. Haney, Bentley M. Blickensderfer, Hunter M. Lamb; one brother, Gary (Janet) Danbury of Minonk; two sisters, Barbara (Manny) Manso of Florida and Carol (Tim) Wilcox of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her father, William E. Danbury, Sr.; one grandson, Steven M. Blickensderfer; and two brothers, William E. Danbury, Jr. and Terry L. Danbury.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
