Mary Kathryn Haws' Obituary
Mary Kathryn Haws, 98, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Imboden Creek Living Center with her family by her side.
Mary was born December 6, 1919 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Charles J. and Veronica (Wyse) Lofgren. She married the love of her life David W. Haws on October 31, 1936. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1968. Mary retired from Huston Patterson Printers with over thirty years of service.
She touched so many lives with her loving heart and beautiful smile. She was the true Matriarch of her family.
Mary leaves behind her daughter Charlene (Charles Gale) Quick, grandchildren Kathy (Jerry) Walters, John (Gina) Quick, Doug (Devona) Haws, and Tricia (Doug) Longstreet, seven great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Judy (Barbee) Haws, and very special sister-in-law Ruby (Harry) Cook.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Charles and Robert Lofgren, sister Bonnie Jean Cotterell, and son Charles David “Butch” Haws.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Imboden Creek for all of the loving care they gave to Mary.
Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery.
