DECATUR- Mary Janice “Jan” McCoy, 73 of Decatur, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Roy Bauer celebrant. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 on Monday evening at Moran and Goebel Funeral home with a vigil prayer service at 4:30. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery. Jan was born on June 23, 1942 Decatur, IL a daughter of Paul Daniel and Mary Ellen (Higgins) Heffernan. She was a member of Ss. James and Patrick Parrish. Jan loved the simple things in life. Family, Friends, going out to dinner and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also looked forward to winters in Florida with her Florida group. She married Donald Joseph McCoy on March 19, 1958. They celebrated 41 years together before he passed away on May 2, 1999.
Surviving are her children- Kevin M. McCoy and his wife Teresa of Decatur, Tom McCoy and his wife Robyn of Forsyth, Christopher McCoy of Decatur, Joey McCoy and his wife Lori of Forsyth, and Lisa McCoy and Curtis, sisters- Judy Snyder and husband John, Margaret Drake and husband Roger and Laurie Thompson and husband Ron all of Decatur, brother- Michael Heffernan of Decatur, eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jan was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband, son- baby Donald Joseph McCoy, Jr., four sisters and one grandson.
