Mary Helen Kikolla's Obituary
Mary Helen Kikolla, 97, passed away on October 22, 2025, at Aspen Creek Nursing Home in Sullivan, Illinois. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at St. James Church in Decatur, with visitation in the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery following the Mass.
Mary Helen was born in Decatur, the only child of Sophie and August Jordan, on August 8, 1928. She attended St. James School and was a 1946 graduate of Decatur High School, working in Mr. Denz’s law office after high school. She married Clark Kikolla on February 11, 1950, in Decatur. She was a homemaker and a dedicated volunteer at St. James, St. Teresa High School, and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. She was a lifelong member of St. James Parish and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Preceding her in death are her husband Clark Kikolla in 1999, and her parents. Surviving are her children Sandy (Pat) Moser of Richmond, IL, Dennis (Dawn) Kikolla of Lucas, TX, Judy (Dan) Shay of Cerro Gordo, IL, and Carol (Kevin) Waller of Dalton City, IL; grandchildren Megan Moser, Amy (Nate) Foster, Bryan (Cydney) Kikolla, Stephanie (Steven) Schildt, Kyle (Nicolle) Shay, Derek (Katie) Shay, Adam (Staci) Waller, and Braydon (Claudia Streibich) Waller; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
