Mary Irene Klaus' Obituary
Mary Irene Klaus, 77, of Decatur passed away on June 28, 2004 at Saint Mary's Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 1, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Moran & Goebel on Friday July 2, 2004 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. LaVerne Arndt officiating. Burial will be at North Fork Cemetery.
Mary was born to Harry V. and Lena Harshmann Davis on September 12, 1926 in Frankfort, Ind. Raised by her father and paternal grandmother, Hannah Sibray Davis in Oakley, IL. In 1942 she married Carl H. Klaus, Sr. in St. Louis, Mo. He died in May 1986. While raising her family, she worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1985. She loved family functions especially "Sunday" and holiday dinners for her 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; also enjoying the Ozark Mountains and the lakes of Branson, Mo with her family.
Mary is survived by her 4 sons – Carl H. Klaus, Jr. Brenda; grandson Carl H. Klaus, III Tiffany great grandchildren Austin, Halie and Chloe all of Niantic, Allen M. Klaus of Taylor Mill, Ky., Larry W. Klaus, Sr. Diana one grandson and 3 great grandchildren and Bruce E. Klaus Kathy five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; her 3 daughters include, Sharon K. Traughber Bob, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, Kathy E. Chambers Walt, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Carolyn S. McWilliams Tim of Oakley, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Proceeded in death by her Father, brother Charles, paternal Grandmother and 2 grandchildren.
Mom will be missed by all; her zest for life was contagious. She will be fondly remembered by those who loved her and will be cherished forever.
