Mary E. Miles' Obituary
Decatur-Mary E. Miles, 80, of Decatur, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born April 28, 1932 in Vandalia, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Lorretta (Bolyard) Simpkins. She was an excellent cook and worked in several places in Decatur most notably Fleta's Bar & Grill. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoyed reading and latch hooking. She married Thomas Miles April 30, 1949. He preceded her in death July 21, 1971.
She leaves behind her children Cindy Henry of Dublin, California, Thomas Miles and wife Pam of Eolia, Missouri, Cathy Davis and husband John of Temple, Texas, and Karen Weikle and husband Wes of Maroa, brothers Harry Simpkins of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Tom Simpkins of Decatur, sisters Jackie Ridge of Decatur, Joann Henderson of Elwin, and Phyllis McKirahan of Decatur, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 in Calvary Cemetery Decatur. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
