Mary Delores Pattin's Obituary
Mary Delores Pattin, 72, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 9, 2017 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Mary was born on January 15, 1944 in Charleston, MO to the union of Eddie D. and Dorothy (Johnson) Pattin. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church, an avid bowler, Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed playing softball. She was very proud of her daycare, caring for children, and was also a supporter of the police organizations.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her son, Darryl Smith (Lanikka) of Decatur; special son, David Fitzpatrick of Decatur; daughters, Wilma Brown of Wentzville, MO; Debra Buckins of Springfield; brothers, James Johnson (Frances) of Decatur; Vernell Pattin of Wilmington, NC; Larry Cole of Decatur; sisters, Samantha Chaney of Decatur; Lavern Tucker of Decatur; Ida Mae Davis of Carbondale; seven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, and one brother.
Homegoing service to celebrate Mary’s life will be 11 AM Saturday, January, 14, 2017 in New Salem Baptist Church, 352 W. Wood Street, Decatur, IL 62522 with the Rev. John Banks officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
