Mary K. Venturelli's Obituary
Mary K. Venturelli, 83, of Decatur, died at 9:37 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
Mary was born September 5, 1927 in Hillsboro, IL, a daughter of George W. Suits, Sr. and Anna V. McCullers Suits. She was a registered nurse working primarily for Decatur Public Schools. She also worked for Warrensburg School District, Visiting Nurses Association and Macon County Health Department. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid swimmer, loved to play bridge and cook for her family. Mary was united in matrimony to Donald M. Venturelli on August 23, 1951 in Hillsboro.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 60 years, Donald of Decatur; son, Jeff wife, Jean Venturelli of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren: Marissa Venturelli of Clearwater, FL, and Daniel (Kristin Juneau) Venturelli of Green Bay, WI; great grandson, Bryant; brother, George wife, Carol Suits, Jr. of Hillsboro. Preceding her in death are her parents and son, Michael and brother, Maurice “Deke” Suits.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 until 11 a.m. where a Mass of the Resurrection Celebrating Mary’s life will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Rev. Richard W. Weltin, celebrant. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery; Hillsboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
