Mary Jane Wallace's Obituary
Decatur-Mary Jane Wallace 82, of Decatur, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 11, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of James Albert Gillett and Pearl (Locke) Rosenbury. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was previously employed with Martin Jewelers and Ornamental Metalworks where she served as treasurer. She was a member of the Bridge Club and volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital, Rock Springs Center, and Scovill Children's Museum. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, collecting china and crystal, and her Bradley GT Car that her and her husband restored. She married Myrel F. Wallace June 18, 1949. He preceded her in death November 29, 2008. They shared over fifty-nine years together.
She leaves behind her sons Jarel Wallace of Decatur and Phil Wallace and wife Lisa of Long Creek, daughters Valerie O'Neill and Lorrie Cartier both of Hillsboro, Oregon, brother Larry Rosenbury and wife Barbara of Decatur, sister Carol Green and husband John of San Antonio, Texas, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Kathleen Zahner.
Services to celebrate Mary Jane's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
