Matilda C. Rennier's Obituary
Forsyth – Matilda C. Rennier, 97, of Decatur, formerly of Forsyth, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Aperion Care, Decatur.
She was born in December 28, 1918 in rural Mt. Pulaski, IL to Aloysius E. and Clara M. (Blank) Kapper. Matilda was a homemaker and charter member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She married Francis J. Rennier on September 3, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1998.
Matilda is survived by her sister, Isabelle M. Blakeman of Decatur; brothers: Wilfred Kapper of Decatur, Maurice E. “Pete” (Doris) Kapper of Forsyth, and Virgil (Charlotte) Kapper of Decatur; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Teresa Schroll.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 5 to 7 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service will be at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; Rev. Richard Weltin, celebrant. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or donor’s choice.
