Mattie S. Jackson's Obituary
Mattie S. "Cat" Jackson age 74 of Decatur, went to be with the Lord at 6:50 pm Thursday, February 19, 2004 in her home surrounded by her loving husband and  family.
Homegoing services will be 11 am Thursday, February 26, 2004, in the Victory Temple Apostolic Church located at 790 South 17th Street here in Decatur. With Elder John Jackson officiating. Mattie was born on August 15, 1929 in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of Alexander and Aggie Taylor Mann. She was a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Dyersburg, TN, a former member of the House of Faith of Decatur, lastly having her membership at the Apostolic Ministry of Discipleship of Decatur. She was a homemaker taking care of her loving husband and children. She married Elder John Jackson on November 17, 1947 in West Memphis, Arkansas, he survives.
Also surviving to remember her include her sons; John Jackson, Jr. of Decatur, IL., Randy Jackson and wife Tracey of Decatur, IL., daughters; Georgia Cook and husband Robert of Decatur, IL., Juanita Hunt and husband Johnny of Decatur, IL., Christine Jackson, Kimberly Jackson both of Decatur, IL., Patricia Rogers and husband Clayton of New York., brothers; Alexander Mann, Jr. of Decatur, IL., Bishop John Mann of Dyersburg, TN., Earl Mann also of Dyersburg, TN., sister; Louise Hill of Dyersburg, TN.; 28 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, son Danny Jackson, brothers; Bishop Robert Mann, John Henry Mann, sisters; Octavia, Lucille and Margaret Mann and Bessie Watkins.
The family of Mattie Jackson would like extend a special thank you to her granddaughter Shanishe Halliburton, Dr. Elvoy, Dr. R. Garcia and the staff of DMH hospice for their loving care of Mattie during her illness.
