Maurice J. Lynch's Obituary
Maurice J. “Moe” Lynch, 81 of Urbana, formerly of Decatur died at 11:09 am Saturday March 04, 2006 in Provenna Medical Center Emergency Room in Champaign.
Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday March 07, 2006 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Father Jeff Grant will be celebrant. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm this evening in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Moe’s Name. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the Lynch family with these arrangements.
Moe was born in Kansas City, KS on January 04, 1925 the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Nugent Lynch. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He worked as a Commodities Broker for Stotler Grain for many years. He married Virginia “Ginny” Cochener in Kansas City, KS on November 15, 1958, she preceded him in death in 1990. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII, receiving two Bronze Stars, Victory Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal and the EAME Theater Ribbon.
Moe leaves behind his three children; Elizabeth Lynch of Urbana, Mary Lynch of Skokie and Richard “Rich” Lynch of Chicago. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Moe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ginny, six brothers and two sisters.
