Medford M. Tate's Obituary
Medford M. Tate, 90, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Medford was born April 18, 1923 in Newton, IL, the son of Clyde and Grace (Mahaney) Tate. He was a very giving person. Medford would spend a lot of time in his garden, and shared the crops he grew with other people. He loved his dog, and he was a hard worker who enjoyed building things.
Medford leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Carol Sweeney of Decatur; Betty Martin of Chicago; grandchildren, Jeff and Scott of Chicago; Tina, Mark, Kim, and Brad of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Austin, Jessica, Maddie, Sam, Sydney, and Joey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters.
A private family service will be held for Medford. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Medford may be made to the Homeward Bound Animal Shelter.
