Michael L. Booth's Obituary
Michael L. Booth, 64, of Decatur passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in his home surrounded by his family. He never gave up the fight. He was strong to the end.
Michael was born on September 6, 1949 in Kansas City, MO the son of Edward and Mary (Ford) Booth. He was a Union Roofer for King Lar. He was an avid gardener who loved to grow and share his harvest. He took great pride in caring for his yard. He also enjoyed building anything and was skilled in many trades. He married Cindy, the love of his life on December 5, 1981 in Decatur.
Surviving are his loving wife, Cindy; son, Bryan Booth (Ashley); daughter, Jennifer Pritchard (Ronnie); brother, Steve Booth; sisters, Cherie Moran and Debbie Mills (Mel); three grandchildren, Noah Pritchard, Carly Pritchard, and Bryley Booth; father-in-law, Maurice Banks; brothers-in-law, Danny Banks (Theresa) and Pat Banks (Cheryl); sisters-in-law, Terri Chance (Phil Galligan) and Pam Mitchell (Kerry) all of Decatur; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eddie Booth, and mother-in-law Sue Banks.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wade, Dr. Yoon, Nurse Practitioner Leann and the staff at Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois for all their care of Michael.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, January, 18, 2014 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Molloy as Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday in Moran & Goebel with a Vigil Prayer Service at 4:30 PM Friday. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois.
