Michael James Cordray's Obituary
DECATUR ' Michael J. Cordray, 31, of Decatur passed away Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2013) after a tragic accident.
Michael was born Nov. 19, 1981, in Decatur, the youngest child to Pastor Larry and Mary E. Albright Cordray. Mikey always had a smile on his face and was the nicest, kindest man you'd ever meet. Thirty-one years didn't give him enough time to start a family of his own, but Mikey had so many close friends who were just like family. He loved to hang out with friends and have a good time.
He is survived by his father; stepmother, Nancy Barnett Cordray of Decatur; sisters, Lydia (Curtis) Gentry and Elizabeth (Michael L.) King, all of Decatur; brother, Daniel Cordray of Decatur; half-sister, Kelley Horn of Port Carbon, Pa.; grandmothers, Mary S. Cordray and Edith Albright; nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandfathers, the Rev. John Cordray and the Rev. Archie Albright.
Services to celebrate Mikey's life will 11 a.m. Tuesday in Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Following the service a luncheon will be served at New Beginnings Church of God on W. Illinois 121, Decatur. Since Mikey loved animals an account has been created for memorials at Earthmover Credit Union for donations to Homeward Bound Pet Shelter in Michael's name. Send condolences: www.moranandgoebel.com.
The family would like to thank the community and friends for all of their support in this difficult time.
