Michael J. "Mike" Boland's Obituary
Decatur – Michael J. “Mike” Boland, 70, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 in his home.
Mike was born May 7, 1944 in Decatur, the son of Robert Joseph and Carmela (Piraino) Boland. A U.S. Army Veteran, Mike was a graduate of St. Teresa High School and Lewis University. He was the president of Boland Electric Supply Company and operated the Forum for many years. He loved spending time with family and had a passion for popular music and sharing it with others.
Surviving are his sisters: Ann (husband, Joe) Kerns and Jenny (husband, Ron) Brinkmeyer; nieces: Amy Wolford (husband, Paul) Chiligiris, Rachael (husband, Matt) Lampe, Molly (fiancé, Kyel Richard) Brinkmeyer and nephew, Timothy Wolford. Mike is also survived by his grandnieces: Mia Chiligiris and Annalee Lampe and grandnephews: George Chiligiris and Josh Lampe; along with many cousins, co-workers and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Wolford.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Good Samaritan Inn.
