Michael C. Tirpak's Obituary
Michael G. Tirpak, 84, of Decatur, died on Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life will be 10 a.m. Mon. Jan 17, 2005 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sun. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where a rosary service will be conducted by Sister Marianne Nolan, O.P. at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Assumption. Memorials are suggested to: Mary Anne Tirpak Scholarship Fund, Holy Family School.
Michael was born on Oct. 21, 1920 in Moweaqua, the son of Michael and Anna Oravetz Tirpak. He worked for 35 years in several different positions at Mueller Co. before retiring in 1985. Michael was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, past member of the Knights of Columbus Council #577, Army Veteran of WWII, and a past member of the American Legion where he volunteered to maintain the Club Room. Michael married Mary Joan Adermann on October 4, 1958 in Assumption.
Surviving is his wife Mary Joan of Decatur; son, Michael C. Tirpak of Springfield; brother, Joseph Tirpak of Quincy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His parents; two daughters, Mary Anne and Susan Joan; 5 brothers and 8 sisters preceded him in death.
