Minnie T. Hershberger's Obituary
Minnie T. Hershberger, 95, of Decatur, died Friday, February 18, 2011 in Heartland Nursing Home, Decatur.
Minnie was born December 26, 1915 in Decatur the daughter of Samuel and Angela Feriozzi Martina. A member of St.’s James and Patrick Catholic Church and long time resident of the Oxford House, Minnie loved to square dance and was a member of Star Shooters Dance Group and Rainbows Square Dance Group. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters of America. Minnie volunteered at Dove and Rock Springs Nature Center. She married Galen Hershberger in 1946 and he preceded her in death in April of 1984.
She is survived by her daughter’s: Regina G. Garrett of WA, and Susan F. Scott of FL; sister, Lucy Kujawa of Decatur; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be 10 am Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Tuesday in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer will be at service at 4:30 pm. Memorial gifts are suggested to: St. Patrick Church Restoration Fund or Donor’s Choice.
