Mitch York's Obituary
Mitchell Andrew York, 55 of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.
Mitch was born May 11, 1963, in Decatur, to M. Ray and Shirley Jean (McCoy) York. He married Katherine Elizabeth Tappendorf on September 18, 1988 in Decatur. He worked for Parke Warehouse for 22 years. Mitch loved NASCAR, grilling out and just spending quality time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Katherine; his four children, Caleb York of Decatur, Joshua (Sammie Bratzel) Hamilton of Kenosha, WI, Paege (Greg Maltby) York of Decatur and Maria (Raymond) Hollgarth of Phoeniz, AZ; his parents, Ray and Shirley York of Decatur; grandchildren, Selena, Dakota, Ray, Jr., Judy, Travis, Saphira, Shaniya, Kenzo and Baby Maltby; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Matthew York.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mitch York will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter 2258 Weldon Parkway – St. Louis, MO 63146.
