Moses Comage Sr.'s Obituary
Moses Comage departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2020 in Decatur Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.
Moses was born on August 25, 1940 in Brownsville, TN to the union of Horris Comage, Sr and Verdalena Smith Comage. He was brought up in a God fearing home where as a young child he attended the Church of God in Christ. He was educated in the public school system. He loved to work and keep busy, one of his favorite past times was working as an auto mechanic.
Moses was a loving husband. In 1962 he was united in holy matrimony to Betty Owens Comage where they proceeded to raise 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Moses was a friend to many, and a stranger to none. Moses lived between Brownsville and Decatur. Sometime after the passing of his beloved wife Betty, he moved back to Decatur permanently.
Moses was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He left a lasting impression on the lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his loving companion of many years: Debra Little of Decatur; children: Pamela (Alex) Martin, Danny Comage, Linda Comage, Shatia Landrum all of Decatur; Sharon (Robert) Boyd; Moses (Kimberly) Comage, Jr; Modelia Thompkins all of Brownsville, TN; Darryll Comage of Lansing, MI; and Ivory Comage of Mansfield, OH; sisters: Ruby Howard; Josephine Warren both of Decatur; Pearlie Taliaferro of Dayton, OH; Earnestine Comage of Oklahoma; brothers: James Comage and Jimmie (Erma) Comage of Decatur; Roosevelt Comage of Bloomington, IL; and Robert L. Comage of Jackson, TN; and a host of grandchldren; great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Moses was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Comage; daughter Arnetta Comage; parents Horris Comage, Sr and Verdalena Comage; 4 sisters: Ester Lena, Sara Pearl, Doretha and Louvern Wilder, and 4 brothers: Otis Comage, Horris Comage, Jr; Albert Comage, and Leslie Comage.
Visitation to celebrate Moses’ life will be held on Friday (Nov 13, 2020) from 6:00-8:00 PM at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Decatur. Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation. He will be laid to rest at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff nurses and doctors of Decatur Memorial Hospital who cared for Moses, Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, and anyone else we failed to mention.
