Myrna L. Jedlicka's Obituary
Myrna L. Jedlicka, 85, of Decatur passed away on November 12, 2009 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Myrna was born on July 31, 1924 in Allenville, IL and grew up in Sullivan, IL the daughter of Melvin and Sylvia McCabe Stricklan. She worked as an artist for Caterpillar Tractor Company in the 1950’s. She married Byrl Jedlicka on October 4, 1958 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2000. She loved her art work. In later years she made greeting cards for her family and friends. The family requests those who may have received a card she made to bring and share at the visitation and fellowship afterwards.
She leaves her son, Ben Jedlicka and wife Julie of Decatur; daughter, Marta Murphy of Decatur; brother, Jack Tuggle of Charleston; sister, Beth Evans of Maryland; grandsons, Matthew Jedlicka and wife Amy, Dan Jedlicka, and Shane Murphy all of Decatur; Coady Murphy of Champaign; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Jedlicka; great-grandsons, Owen and Wyatt Jedlicka, niece, Connie Heath, and nephew, Perry Tuggle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and teacher, and was blessed by God with many talents. We were all blessed to have had her. No one loved her family more than she.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Fair Havens Christian Home and the Doctors and staff at SIU School of Medicine for their loving and exceptional care during Myrna’s illness.
Funeral service celebrating Myrna’s life will be 11:00 AM Saturday November 14, 2009 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Chaplin Dan Spruell officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Fair Havens Christian Home
