N.H. “Bert” Pierceall, 79 of Mesa, AZ., formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away on November 28, 2008 in Arizona
Bert was born September 21, 1929 in Decatur, the son of Anthony O. and Georgia H. Leible Pierceall. A U.S. Army Veteran, Bert worked in various positions throughout his life mostly in Insurance. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa, Knights of Columbus Council #577 and the Very Rev. Jeremiah J. Murphy Assembly #211 in Decatur. Bert was a CubMaster at Holy Family Catholic Church, sang in many local choirs and portrayed Mr. Millikin at Millikin Days for several years. He married Marilyn K. Moore on June 20th, 1981 in Decatur.
Surviving is his wife, Marilyn of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Christine; sons: Ernest and David; step-sons: James C. Moore and Matthew B. Moore of Decatur; grandchildren: Tara B. Moore, Marcie Moore, Brendan Moore, Eric Pierceall, Abby Pierceall and Zachary Pierceall; several great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in law, Edward & Marcella Lang and Richard and Jacqueline Lang; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Barbara; son, John; step-daughter, Karen Moore; one brother and one sister.
Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 am, Saturday, December 13th, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church; Rev. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the mass. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: White House Retreat Center, 7400 Christopher Dr, St Louis, MO 63129.
