Nadine Bunker's Obituary
Nadine Bunker, 84, of Decatur, died Monday, March 14, 2011 in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home, Decatur.
Nadine was born October 1, 1926 in Blue Mound the daughter of Isaac “Hez” and Lelah Young Johnson. A member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Nadine was an alum of St. John’s School of Nursing and loved to play bridge. She worked as a RN at St. Mary’s Hospital and for many doctor’s in Decatur before retiring from the Decatur Clinic. Nadine married Harlan Bunker on November 29, 1947 in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan of Decatur; children: Stephen Bunker of PA, Patrick Cynthia Bunker of OH, Mary Anne Dave Hopper of Waterloo and Nancy George Koester of MO; 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; sister, Karen J. Lawrence of Decatur; niece, Lisa Lawrence of Peoria and special friend, Susie T.R. Flynn of Decatur.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be 11 am Friday, March 18, 2011 in St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Rev. James Palakudy celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to: St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church.
