Nancy Jane Williams' Obituary
Decatur-Nancy Jane Williams, 73, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in her residence.
Services to celebrate Nancy's life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hillside Bethel Tabernacle Church 3575 E Greenhill Rd, Decatur. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or Hillside Bethel Tabernacle Church.
Nancy was born December 10, 1939 in Decatur, the daughter of Troy and Ruby (Getz) Williams. She was a lifelong member of Hillside Bethel Tabernacle church. She lead the junior church programs and also served as director of holiday programs. She absolutely loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Nancy was an avid cook book collector and loved to experiment with new recipes. In her spare time, she liked to read and cut out new recipes. Nancy worked and retired from Decatur Public Library after 38 years of service. She believed everything had a purpose and enjoyed reusing things in a creative way. Nancy will be missed by all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her sisters, M. Maxine Williams of Decatur, Marilyn (Homer) Rambo of Decatur; brothers Virgil (Donna) Williams of Decatur, David Williams; 15 nieces and nephews; 26 great nieces and nephews, and many great-great nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers and sister in law, Troy E (Alice), Williams, Gerald D Williams and brother-in law, Sam Williams
