Nancy Ellen Young's Obituary
Nancy Ellen Young, 61, of Decatur, formerly of Maroa, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Nancy was born August 17, 1954, in Decatur, to Raymond and Betty (Lake) Hall. She married Roger Young in Maroa in 1971. They later divorced. Nancy was an employee of Kmart for 36 years. She was a friend to everyone she met and her smile was contagious. She loved Discovery reality shows, looked forward to every Saturday night to watch The Dead Files on the Travel channel. She was a Cubs fan and she made the best Chex mix ever!
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Davis of Maroa; her mother, Betty Hall of Decatur; her three granddaughters, Tyranny, Berkley and Topanga (whom she loved spending time with); her brother, Dennis (Karen) Hall of Billings, Montana; her five sisters, Sharon (Martin) Spaugh of Decatur, Judy Hall-Garren of Peoria, Peggy (Costas) Michanicou of Dunlap, IL, Mindy Younker of Decatur and Cindy Holman of Clermont, GA; many nieces and nephews; and her very special friends, Tammey Grandon, Cheryl Carr, Donna Sapp and Linda Barger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Hall.
Visitation services to celebrate the life of Nancy Young will be from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for her granddaughters’ college education fund.
