Natalie Nicole Goebel's Obituary
After a courageous five-year battle, Natalie Nicole Goebel, 19 yrs. old succumbed to cancer on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in her Taylorville, IL home.
Natalie was born on December 7, 1988 in Springfield, Illinois. She is the beloved daughter of her mother and stepfather Kristina and Phil DeRochi and her father and step mother Lenny & Carolyn Goebel all of Taylorville, IL. In addition to her parents, Natalie is survived by her brothers William wife Laura Goebel and Jereme Goebel all of Tinley Park, IL. Stepsiblings, Rochelle DeRochi, Angel Bell of Springfield, Elisha DeRochi of St. Louis and Brad Bell of Taylorville. Grandparents are Thelma Goebel and Reno and Grace Yattoni all of Morrisonville, IL. Step Grandparents, Geno & Eleanor DeRochi of Taylorville and Jim & Lois Holderly of Girard, IL. In addition, many aunts, uncles, cousins and great aunts survive her. She leaves behind to be cared for and loved, her pet dog and friend, Casper.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She fought for the underdog, the under privileged and animals in need. Everyone loved Natalie’s contagious smile and outgoing friendliness. Natalie passionately cheered for the Fighting Illini Basketball team, liked hanging out with her friends and loved being around her family. Natalie graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 2007 and briefly attended LLCC. Her ambition was to become a nurse.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Natalie’s life will be 10 am, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Taylorville, 116 W. Adams St., Taylorville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Monday, March 24, 2008 at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Memorials may be made to: Make a Wish Foundation, Camp CoCo, or Animal Protective League.
Natalie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Carl Goebel.
